DAPPER DAY ON THE SUBWAY is a whistle-stop tour of historic Los Angeles. We will dress up in dapper clothes and enjoy a bygone era of sophisticated leisure on the MetroRail lines. We’ll stop at historic locations along the way. All that is required is a ticket to ride the rails* and you - dressed up in your dapper attire of choice. Part performance art, part cultural experiment, Dapper Day on the Subway is about dressing up, exploring the lost luxury and convenience of rail travel, embracing rail as a gateway to culture, and having a lot of fun while doing it!

DAPPER DAY ON THE SUBWAY is not organized by the people who organize Dapper Day at the Disney Parks although we think that their event is amazing and are inspired by their work. Please visit their website at DapperDay.com to find out about their next event!

railLA is hosting our first DAPPER DAY ON THE SUBWAY this year on Sunday, April 29, 2012. We hope to see you there!

*some event venues may require payment for entry.

We had so many people come out to join us at Dapper Day on the Subway! Everyone looked absolutely amazing! Special thanks to Traxx Bar, Los Angeles del Tango, Angels Flight Railway Foundation, LA Heritage Aliance, Barnsdall Art Park, Cicada Club, and Metro for their support!

Official photos are posted at railLA.org and facebook.com/railLAorg

If you enjoyed Dapper Day on the Subway and would like to see more events like it, please consider donating 5 or 10 dollars to help railLA to raise some funds to do this again. Buttons, stickers, venues - its all very expensive! If you can chip in, please do what you can!

Thanks again for dressing dapper and supporting railLA!
